The scent is a little much, but the performance of this stuff outweighs it in every way!My poor Pyrenees mix is terrified of the groomer and my next option was to get him sedated to clean him up.It really does what it says, it will take me awhile to get him all brushed out but this stuff makes the task a lot easier. He can only take it in 5-10 minute sessions.Come fall and spring when he blows his coat, I hopefully won't have to stress about getting him cleaned up.This guy really needed this as you can see in his before photos. I'll post an update when we are finished!

I have a coton de tulear. Very fine, thick hair that is also wavy. If I don't brush for a day, mats begin, a few days and I regret it! Tropiclean Tangle Remover definitely helps get those mats out when used generously. However, I've noticed after a couple of weeks that my dog's hair seems dry and not as silky feeling as before. So my search continues for the best detangler/stay-in conditioner.
UPDATED two years later:
Actually I’m really sold on this now and increased my rating from 4 stars to 5.m. I brush my dog almost everyday with a brush and then a fine toothed comb and when the dog’s hair is knotty this makes a huge difference. It smells nice and fresh as well.

The scent is too strong for me, I’m sure it’s way too strong for a dogs nose, and it lasts for over a week! Even on the “spray” setting, it soaks the hair so I can’t imagine what the “stream” setting would do. Not a thick coating at all but...yes, it does work better than some others I’ve tried. I just can’t use it too much & wonder if I can dilute it at all.

Used this on my Australian Shepherd and got the mats out, but not sure if it was from the detangler or from my brushing action to be honest. Either way, the detangler has a nice smell that isn't harsh or strong. Solution is very slippery and almost water-repelling. Not oily at all, and in fact, made my hardwood floors extremely slippery (in a dry way) after getting some on it while brushing my dog.

Not sure if it detangles my poodle’s hair but the scent is so nice and fruity.... However the spraying is badly designed. When I spray on the coat it just soaks the one area and needed some blow drying. So i sprayed it into my palm then rub it unto the coat to give the coat a very nice and soft smell...

I have a goldendoodle/poodle mix/mutt call her what you want. I call her a blessing! She hates being brushed. I was dry brushing her before getting this spray and it was miserable for her and me. Not the type of quality bonding time I wanted during our grooming sessions. I was between this spray and another brand that loves my type of dog. I went with this one because of the trigger spray and the sweet pea smell. It has made brushing so much easier! She seems less knotty and the spray seems to really help get the tangles out more easily then to go at it dry. The spray does get on the floor and makes it slick.
